There is a small indentation built into the top of the microwave where the door is supposed to latch, but this setup is inconsistent. Otherwise, you will have to stoop down to read the display and make sure that you look at it straight on. Panasonic did report that they would be fixing the problem on newer models, although those who purchased the product in late 2011 found that the issue still remained.

 Unbalanced: The Panasonic NN-SD377S Microwave sits on four legs, and these legs aren’t exactly stable. Even if you have a super straight countertop, you may notice that the microwave rocks back and forth. The best solution is to place furniture protectors underneath the feet so that the appliance is stable and the feet won’t scratch your countertop.

Another design flaw of the Panasonic NN-SD377S Microwave is that the cord comes out from the bottom of the microwave instead of the back, making it more difficult to plug in and hide the cord. If the cord gets stuck under the microwave, it too can cause the appliance to feel unbalanced.

 No Interior Light: How many of us love being able to open the microwave door and have the light come on? This makes seeing what we’re doing much easier, plus makes it possible to whip up a meal in low light.
